Textile industry in TURKEY

Turkey is one of the most important textile and cotton manufacturer countries on all over the World. We can say that Turkey is the 3. largest textile country for EU countries and 6. biggest one between the all other countries for all over the World.

Cotton is the most important raw material of the textile production and Turkey cotton is grown at Aegean, South part and southeastern Anatolia part. It is possible to say that cotton is the first step of the textile production and one the most healthy fiber for the skin of the people.

Demand for Turkish textile production increased after the pandemic. The reason why Turkey is preferred for textile production is not only because it is a cotton country, but also because it is in a strategic location.

There are too many yarn and fabric producer in Turkey, it also make an advantage to find different type of fabric and to make different apperal production in Turkey.

Many big apperal brands from European countries like ZARA, M&S, ASSOS are working with Turkish fabric suppliers and garment producers bc of the quality and Turkey’s  the middle and best location.

Turkey is also a BCI ( Better Cotton Initiative ) member and BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) is a non profit governance groups to promote better cotton production from the field, cotton production till production of yarns.

They give education to farmer how to use water efficiently, how to protect the soil during cotton production. The aim of the BCI is the minimise the harmful affects and maximize the efficieny for natüre and people. It is possible to find BCI ( Better Cotton Initiative) certificated fabric and good to use this fabrics for your brands at least to support this system.
